My name is Barbara Park. I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. My family immigrated to United States of America in 1973 and resided in Los Angeles. I graduated from Kennedy High School in Granada Hills. Afterwards I attended USC where I received BA in Education Psychology. I began teaching for LAUSD in 1990 at SunnyBrae Elementary School. I started my career teaching first grade. After ten years, I left the classroom for a year to take a position as the Reading Teacher. At the same time, I attended CSUN where I received MA in Literacy/Language and earned my Reading Specialist Credential. I came to Vintage Magnet Elementary in the fall of 2000 and taught second grade for 9 years. From the year 2009-2013 I have been working as an Intervention Coordinator for the last 4 years. It has been wonderful experience helping so many students...I can't believe the amazing results in our API score. I am excited to be back in the classroom teaching second grade. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, travel, scrapbook and read.
